{"id":83,"date":"2020-09-20T04:43:10","date_gmt":"2020-09-20T04:43:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.biodesaru.my\/?p=83"},"modified":"2020-09-20T08:55:43","modified_gmt":"2020-09-20T08:55:43","slug":"media","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biodesaru.my\/index.php\/2020\/09\/20\/media\/","title":{"rendered":"Bio Desaru project attracts RM2bil investments"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Bio Desaru project attracts RM2bil investments<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2>KINIBIZ ONLINE,  21 OCTOBER 2013<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"405\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.biodesaru.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Capture7.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-125\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.biodesaru.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Capture7.png 405w, https:\/\/www.biodesaru.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Capture7-100x100.png 100w, https:\/\/www.biodesaru.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Capture7-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/www.biodesaru.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Capture7-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 405px) 100vw, 405px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The 3,642.17-hectare Bio Desaru Organic Food Valley project at Desaru \u2014 the first big-scale organic food farm in the country \u2014 has attracted RM2 billion in local and foreign investments since its establishments in 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chief Executive Officer of Johor Biotechnology and Biodiversity Corp (J-BioTech), Wan Amir Jeffery Wan Abdul Majid, said the investments had so far contributed RM1.6 billion to the gross national income and created 4,000 jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere are a lot of Malaysian companies operating and collaborating with foreign partners in Bio Desaru.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have a marine hatchery project by a Thai company, livestock, poultry, herbal farming, acquaculture and intergrated organic farming,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said this at a media briefing after the launch of BioMalaysia &amp; Bio Economy Asia-Pacific 2013 conference and exhibition by Johor Menteri Besar, Mohamed Khaled Nordin, here today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>J-Biotech, is a state agency responsible for spearheading Johor\u2019s push to become the main biotech player in the country. Wan Amir Jeffery said J-Biotech would intensify its efforts to attract more local and foreign biotech companies to invest in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe agency is in the midst of formulating its key performance indices in terms of its targeted investments, realised investments and revenue and employment generations.
